CTD#157 - Thinking about You

Hello!  I haven't been posting all that much lately between getting all three of my kids ready to start school and feeling like I've lost my mojo I just haven't had made the time.
Today I actually created a quick card for The Color Throwdown Challenge #157, and yes I used the PTI Simple Sunflower set...again, I can't seem to get enough of this flower image.
Be sure to stop back tomorrow because I have some BIG NEWS to share!

SSSC132 - Sending You Smiles

Good morning!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #132
For my card I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Simple Sunflower with the coordinating dies.  I used pumpkin pie and apricot appeal ink and did the rock n' roll technique with each of the sunflower images before stamping them onto the die cuts.  For the centers of the sunflowers I die cut them from early espresso cardstock and then stamped them.  Then I stamped the center images again onto a scrap of early espresso cs and punched them out using circle punches so the centers would have a bit of dimension (see close up picture below).  And for the crumb cake square panel behind the sunflowers I used the woodgrain impressions plate to add some texture.  Other than that I kept my card clean and simple.

Supplies: Simple Sunflower + dies - PTI, Woodgrain Impression Plate - PTI, My Mind's Eye Lime Twist DP, Nestie dies, Circle punches, Twine, Foam tape.  Colors: Early Espresso, Crumb Cake.

PTI/SSC25 You're Berry Sweet

Hello and welcome!  Today is the Papertrey Ink August Blog Hop and the inspiration for this month's hop is the sweet photo below.  I know so many people who own the Friendship Jar stamp sets are using them today so since I haven't had a chance to ink up my Friendship Jar Summer Fillers I thought I'd join the crowd.  I ended up using Iwona's wonderful Sketchbook Saturday Sketch #25 to create my card and pulled the colors from the inspiration photo (along with the jar).

Supplies: Friendship Jar + dies, Friendship Jar Summer Fillers, Girls Paperie dp, Button, Twine, Copics, Medium Scallop border die - TE, Ribbon, Foam tape.

Stop by on Saturday morning because I have some exciting news to share!

SSSC131 - Happy Birthday

Good morning!  Today is the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #131.  I've used the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence stamp set Birthday Princess along with some fun My Mind's Eye lime twist designer paper.  I took some liberty with Karen's great sketch, because my image wasn't all that long I added a sentiment flag along the bottom.  I was also inspired by challenge #75 over at the Shabby Tea Room which was to use polka dots on your card or project.  Even though my card doesn't have a shabby look to it I was still able to use polka dots...who doesn't love polka dots!

CPS128 - Thinking of You

Hello everyone and happy Thursday!  This whole summer it feels like all I've done is run my kids around here there and everywhere and these last few weeks before school starts are going to be no exception.  Besides school supplies and clothes shopping it's been orthodontist and dentist appointments, cheerleading practices and next week will be the last session for drivers training for our oldest son before he can get his licence.  It's a busy time of year for any mother that has school age kids.  It's hard to believe that my baby will be starting morning kindergarten the beginning of September, that and my two teenagers will both be in high school.  Time flies while you're busy running kids around, cooking dinners, picking up Lego's and scrubbing toilets, lol.

The card I have for today was created using the Card Patterns Sketch Challenge #128 and the Papertrey Ink Stamp-a-faire stamp set Iconic Images.  With the colors and papers that I used on this card I think it has a country shabby look to it.  I'm mad that I had a ribbon cut to go on my card and after doing the stitching, taping it together and photographing it I forgot to put it on so it is what it is.

Thanks for stopping by!

SSSC#130/PDCC#94 - The Best is Yet to come!

It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #130!  For my card I created a birthday card for my husband who's birthday is next month (I told him not to look at today's post).
I'm not very good at masculine cards they always seem to be a struggle for me but I gave it a good shot.  I ended up flipping Karen's sketch on it's side and used the sharp looking colors from The Playdate Cafe Challenge #94.  I started out with an early espresso cardstock base and some My Mind's Eye designer paper then added to that some ribbon, twine and a button.  The stamp set I used is the PTI Big Birthday Wishes set with the coordinating number dies, I embossed my so saffron cardstock that I used for the numbers with the wood grain impression plate then adhered them to the chip board numbers I had cut out.  The not quite navy back ground circle that the numbers are on was embossed as well using a herringbone embossing folder.

CCTC - Sweet Peas

Hello there!  The card I have for today was created using the colors from the Color Trends Challenge, part of the challenge was to not only use the colors below but use them in your coloring.  I used Copic markers to color in this sweet pea image.  I've had the PTI Year of Flowers stamp set for a few weeks now and have wanted to use it to create a card, so when I looked out my kitchen window today I saw my sweet peas blooming and was inspired to use this image along with the colors from the challenge.

These rambling hot pink sweet peas are growing next to a honeysuckle vine on one side and a fir tree on another and it's attached it self to both.
Supplies: Year of Flowers, Garden Variety + die, Tiny Tags + die - PTI, Copics, Ribbon, Medium Scallop Border die - TE, Foam tape, Linen thread.

CPS127/PDCC93 - Celebrate Your Day!

Good Monday morning to you and thanks for popping in!  Today I have a card that I created using two challenges, I used the sketch from the Card Patterns Sketch Challenge #127 and the bright cheerful colors from The Playdate Cafe Challenge #93.  I had so much fun creating this card, maybe it was the colors I'm not sure but it was just one of those cards that came together easily.

I used the PTI stamp set Signature Greetings for my sentiment, PTI flower dies with the Sending You stamp set and button centers, an SU sizzlet butterfly, some crazy stitching on the My Mind's Eye designer paper, circle Nesties and what I thought looked cool...herringbone embossing on the leaves that I die cut from the Sending You dies.

SSSC129/CR84FN35 - Thank You for Your Kindness

Hello everyone!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge #129.  Karen has a fun sketch for all of us this week using a longer shaped card and we hope you'll be able to play along!

The card I have for today is not only for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge but also for the CR84FN35 Color Challenge.  I used the PTI stamp sets Tea for Two, Iconic Images and Tiny Tags.  The base of my card was cut to 7"x 4" so that my card would fit into a standard letter sized envelope.  For the main image I stamped my thank you sentiment in basic grey, die cut my teapot from SU designer paper and stamped the teapot image.  Then I added foam tape to the back of the die cut teapot adhered it just above my sentiment and added leaves, a flower and pearl to the front.
