MOJO188 - Happy Mother's Day

Hello, hello, hello!  So did you watch the royal wedding this morning?  Kind of hard to miss, lol.  Personally I loved it, it's the closest thing to a modern day fairy tale...maybe I'm just a romantic.

Today I have a Mother's Day card that I created using my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit for April, the TE stamp set Fresh Flowers and the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #188.  Tomorrow is the last day to get your hands on the April Key Ingredients Kit which contains the fun The Girl's Paperie Kitch collection and so many wonderful accessories, believe me you don't want to miss out on this fabulous kit.  You can click here for more information on receiving a kit for yourself.

SC330/CQC/PTI Make it Monday - All About YOU

It's Thursday and the weekend is almost here thank goodness!  Today I have another card for the Colour Queen Challenge #82 and the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday Challenge and also for the Splitcoast Stampers Sketch Challenge#330.  I had so much fun creating my card from yesterday and since I had all the colors out on my desk I decided to create another.  For this card I used the PTI stamp set All About YOU and I did the same rock & roll technique with the flowers as I did on my last card as well as some masking in order to make the leaves appear to be under the flowers.  I embossed the bottom portion of my card with a circle pattern to coordinate with the leaves and flower centers, added three buttons down the right side of the card, ribbon and a scallop border.

Have a great day!

CQC#82 - Hope Your Day is Fabulous

Hello and Happy Wednesday!  The card that I have today is for the Papertrey Ink Make it Monday #12 and for the Colour Queen Color Challenge #82 and even though I didn't have two of the colors (Pear Pizzazz & Baja Breeze) for the challenge I went with colors I thought were closest (Taken with Teal & Mellow Moss).  My card uses two Papertrey Ink stamp sets, Four of a Kind and Signature Greetings.  I kept my card layout clean and simple and used three panels (each measuring 1 3/4"x 4") for my background and a 1 1/2" horizontal strip with ribbon and scallop border.  For the flowers I did the rock & roll technique, first inking them up in Taken with Teal and then rolling the edges in Tempting Turquoise before stamping them out, then added a green rhinestone to the centers.
If you've been a regular reader of my blog, you'll notice that lately I haven't been posting very much.  The reason being is that I've been trying to adjust to a new schedule.  My husband's work has picked up (yes I'm grateful) which makes him gone all day of course with meetings in the evening and some times work or meetings on the weekend and now he is also gone back to school for EMS training two nights a week and every other Saturday.  So add that in with my daughter's dance competitions which have taken me away for a few weekends (we still have at least three more to go before her recital) and daily life of being a mother of three and I think you get the picture.  Family always comes first even though I miss more stamping time.

Fresh Flowers - Thank You

Hello friends!  I hope you had a nice Easter holiday.  Today I have another card that I've created using April's Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit and the TE stamp set Fresh Flowers.  I started out by stamping one of the pitcher and stemmed flower images from the Fresh Flowers stamp set then colored the image with my Copics and then added one of the red paper roses from the kit for some dimension.  I used more of The Girl's Paperie Kitch collection designer paper from the kit (love this paper) and kept my layout clean and simple.  It may be difficult to see from the photo but I added a few of the pearls from the kit to the tops of the Medium Scallop Border for a bit of detail.

SSSC114 - Happy Birthday

Happy Easter everyone!  Today is the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and three of the girls on our Sweet Sunday Team are celebrating their birthdays.  So in honor of that we're dedicating this SSSC114 to Karen G., Vicki and Sarah and wish them the happiest of birthdays!
For my birthday card I ended up turning the sketch vertical and using the My Favorite Things Pure Innocence stamp set Birthday Princess.  I used my Copics to color this fun image and paper pieced her dress.  I added some glitter to the birthday candles for a touch of sparkle, a cluster of die cut roses with pearl centers and at the last minute added the row of die cut grass to hide a blotch of black ink along the bottom of my image.  Isn't that always the way it goes, you get everything colored and taped and then bam a boo boo, at least I was able to cover it up.

SSSC113 - Friendship Blooms

It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  I love this versatile sketch that Karen has given us to create with this week and I hope you'll play along.
For my card I used the Taylored Expressions stamp set Friendship Blooms and the supplies from my TE Key Ingredients Kit for April.  I stamped my sentiment on the lower portion of my die cut circle and used the Leafy Branch die and three of the Friendship Blooms die cut flowers and attached them to the upper left on my circle.  Then I added two of the pink paper roses from the kit in the centers of each flower.  I added my ribbon, bow and some pearls to complete my card.  The Girl's Paperie Kitch collection papers from this months kit are so pretty and the paper roses, ribbons and pearls are the perfect embellishments to go along with them.  For more information on subscribing to receive a Key Ingredients Kit or for more ideas in using this months kit you can click here.

Berry Sweet

Hello!  Today I have two cards using the same stamp set and designer papers but different layouts and sentiments.  I'm still on my strawberry kick as you can see from my last post here so why not go with it right?  I used the My Favorite Things stamp set Who's That Harvesting Girl to create these cards along with some October Afternoon designer paper.  On both cards I colored the images using my Copic markers and paper pieced the shirts, I also added some crystal effects to the strawberries to give them some shine.  Overall I kept them clean and simple looking with the image being the main focus.
Supplies: Who's That Harvesting Girl - MFT, October Afternoon DP, Ribbon, Button, Bakers twine, Brads, Medium Scallop Border - TE, Copics, Circle punches, Crystal Effects, Foam tape.  Colors: Garden Green, Real Red.

Have a great day!

SSSC112 - Well Preserved

It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  For my card today I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Friendship Jar and Bitty Background Blocks and the SU set Tart & Tangy for the strawberry.  I love this October Afternoon designer paper with the sweet strawberries, flowers and bumble bees on it, it reminds me of when we take our kids strawberry picking in June (I'm so ready for summer).

SSSC111 - Bundle of Joy

I'm late with posting my Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge card today due to our Internet being down yesterday but I guess it's better late than never right?  That and you would think it would teach me not to be so last minute in getting my card posted.
I'm sure you're going to love this weeks sketch as much as I do, Karen came up with a fun sketch with lots of layers!  So you have to play along :)  The card that I created for the sketch is a baby card which I used the sweet Tina Wenke Mouse in Nutboat image.  I used my Copics to color in this image and even though its difficult to see I added glitter to the butterfly and dragonflies and used a Glaze pen to add shine to all the little bugs.  I always find it so fun adding all the details to a card like this, buttons, glitter, ribbon, a little bit of glaze or gloss.

Supplies: Mouse in Nutboat Tina Wenke, Mega Mixed Messages - PTI, True Blue DP My Minds Eye, Copics, Nesties, Ribbon, Buttons, Scallop border punch, Glitter, Glaze pen.  Colors: Chocolate Chip, So Saffron.
