SSSC106 - Discover Your Wings Thank You

It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, Karen has another fabulous sketch for all of us to create with this week and we hope you'll join in and play along!
For my card I dove into my Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit for this month (there is so much good stuff that comes in these kits) and chose to use more of the pretty flocked designer paper, this time in red and paired it with black for a more dramatic look.  I used the TE stamp set Discover Your Wings and stamped the flower silhouette from the set and "Thank You" sentiment from the stamp set Branching Out in black.  I also layered together two of the flowers and red rhinestone brad that come in the Kit and added that to the lower left of my card.  For information on signing up to receive a Key Ingredients Kit for yourself you can click here.

Papertrey Ink Blog Hop

TGIF everyone!  The cards I have to share today are for this months Papertrey Ink Blog Hop.  PTI has designated this Blog Hop to scallops and has asked all that participate to create their projects using PTI stamps and scallops of any kind.  Well I miss read the information for the hop and thought I needed to have my card posted on my blog and linked by 10am this morning so I whipped up the above card in 15 minutes without even thinking about it which has to be a new record for me because it usually takes me forever to make a card.  Then I went back to the PTI web site and read that I had until llpm tonight so I thought I would whip up another card which was simple and yet it took me forever, lol.  Isn't that the way it goes?
I was excited to be able to use some of my new goodies that I ordered from this months PTI release and wanted to use some fun bright colors to create a cheerful card and this is what I came up with using the stamp set Button Boutique.
Supplies: Button Boutique, Bitty Background Blocks, Button Card Die, Doily Details Dies, Birthday Basics, Buttons, Twine, Ribbon, Stitching, Medium Scallop Border-TE.  Colors: Old Olive, Melon Mambo, Pumpkin Pie.

This second card uses the PTI stamp set Tag-its #1 as well as the Doily Details Die to create a St. Patrick's Day card.  I added a green felt flower and a die cut button using the Buttoned Up #1 die and a paper coaster, then stamped the top of the button with a pattern from the Bitty Background Blocks.
Thank you for visiting!

Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop

Hello and welcome!  Today is the Taylored Expressions Blast from the Past Blog Hop and the theme for the Hop is to either use the color green or "green" materials on your TE project.  Well I decided to use some of the pretty supplies from my TE Key Ingredients Kit for this month and the TE stamp set Discover Your Wings to create a scrapbook page for my daughter using the color green with brown.
I started out with a sheet of the 8 1/2" x 11" brown cardstock from the kit and stamped the silhouette of the flower image from the Discover Your Wings set along the bottom of the page.  Then I used pieces of the green cardstock and added them vertically down the right side of the page and stamped the flowers again in green on the bottom piece.  I took the green pattern 6"x 6" piece and adhered it an inch from the upper right corner, then cut out a scallop border using my TE Medium Scallop Border Die and adhered it to the bottom of the brown Lush My Mind's Eye designer paper that comes in the Kit and adhered that to the middle right section of my page.  Then came the fun part of adding the details like the ribbon, decorative brad with flower, butterflies, word tags and cool Lush brown chip board letters that are available as an add on to this month's TE Key Ingredients Kit (click below for a close up view).
To view more ideas using this months Taylored Expression Key Ingedients Kit you can click here or to subscribe and recieve a Kit each month for yourself or a friend you can click here.

Thank you for stopping by and enjoy the rest of the Hop!

SSSC105/CQC72 - Something Fabulous Birthday Cupcake Card

Good morning!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  You can find all of the details about joining in on the SSSC#105 on Karen's blog by clicking here
For my card today I used one of my new SU stamp sets Create a Cupcake along with the matching cupcake punch, I also used the fun colors from the Colour Queen Color Challenge and even though I didn't have Cherry Cobbler ribbon I improvised and used Riding Hood Red instead.  I tried to add a bit of texture to the background panels from the sketch but wanted to keep an overall color so I paired up rectangles (which were cut 1 5/8" x 1 7/8) that were embossed or different patterns of designer papers.

Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients

Friday at last!  Today's card was created using some of the supplies from this month's Taylored Expressions Key Ingredients Kit.  The My Mind's Eye designer papers that are in this months Kit are so rich and elegant looking, I love how some of them have a velvety flocking on them and the patterns are wonderful!
For my card above I started out with a chocolate brown card base and went with a mix of the pink polka dotted designer paper and the brown flocked paper, I stamped my image from the TE stamp set Discover Your Wings and the Thank you sentiment from the Branching Out stamp set.  I used my Taylored Expressions Medium Scallop Border Die tucked under the edge of the brown flocked designer paper then tied on my ribbon.  I layered two of the lovely flowers with a pearl brad that all come in the Kit and added them to the corner of my image to finish it off.

Have you seen some of the fabulous projects that my team mates have created over at the Key Ingredients Blog?  If not you have to pop over and take a look!  You can click here to visit the KI Blog and if you'd like you can click here to visit this month's KI Gallery.

SC320 - Springtime Smiles

Hello friends!  I don't know about you but I'm so ready for Spring, so when I saw the fun sketch Challenge on the Splitcoast Stampers (SC320) site yesterday I knew I wanted to create something using the new SU stamp set Easter Blossoms
My card base is Marina Mist with a panel of white and Bashful Blue designer paper with the corners punched using the Ticket Corner punch.  Then I added a vertical panel of the white and Marina mist that I embossed using the Perfect Polka Dot Impressions Folder.  After that I added the horizontal Bashful Blue cardstock with a piece of white Eyelet border along the bottom, I tied on my white taffeta ribbon and a piece of Marina Mist ribbon and added my two Tiny Tags using some string.  I stamped the sweet little girl image and sentiment in Marina Mist, added a mat and scallop punch some pearls and the card was complete.
I wanted to take the opportunity to thank all of you for the incredible response to my "Life is a Matter of Moments" card from my last post.  All of the wonderful comments that were left truly warm my heart and make my day brighter.  What was extremely exciting news was that my card was chosen in all three of the challenges that I entered it into, The Colour Queen, The Play Date Cafe and Pals Paper Arts as well as Nancy Riley's iPicks for the week.  I'm honored to have my card highlighted, thank you.

SSSC104 - Life is a Matter of Moments

It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge (SSSC104), Karen has another fantastic sketch for all of us to try out this week and we hope you'll play along!  The card that I created using this weeks sketch is Stampin' Up only (SUO) and has a vintage look, I used the stamp sets Elements of Style and Tiny Tags.  I'm also entering this card in a few other challenges, the Colour Queen Color Challenge, Play Date Cafe Color Challenge and the Pals Paper Arts Challenge which was to create a card with a vintage look.

The main image was stamped in Crumb Cake, then I used my aqua brush and water colored in some Pretty in Pink and Regal Rose ink, then add some Dazzling Diamonds glitter on each of the roses (you can click on the photo for a close up view).  I love this image of the roses, it reminds me of the large English climbing roses I use to grow at our first house.
This is a close up of the paper rose, I used extra large five petaled flower punch and layered three Pink Pirouette flowers together after crumpling them up.  Then I sponged them with Crumb Cake along the edges and sponged Regal Rose in the center before adding a vintage brad.

Aren't these pictures of the color inspiration from both the Play Date Cafe and the Color Queen beautiful?

Taylored Expressions February Key Ingredients Kit Count Down

Happy Thursday Everyone!  Today marks the first day of the Taylored Expressions February Key Ingredients Kit Count Down!  On the 15th of each month a new Kit is released and you're going to love this months Kit, it's filled with gorgeous designer papers from My Mind's Eye, cardstock, decorative brads, ribbons, flowers and more!  For all of the details and to see Taylor's fabulous projects on the Key Ingredients blog today you can click here.

For my first set of projects using this month's Kit I decided to go with a soft monochromatic birthday card and tin.  I used the Taylored Expressions stamp sets Summer Afternoon, Branching Out and Discover Your Wings.
For the card I used the double sided designer paper and used one side of the paper for the top portion of my card and the other side for the bottom and added a band of the blue cardstock below the center, then added my stitching and ribbon.  I stamped the pretty flower ivy image with the butterflies and dragonfly from the Summer Afternoon set onto the vanilla cardstock from the Kit and added a scallop mat.  Then cut out a 1 5/8" circle of the vanilla cardstock and stamped my "Happy Birthday" sentiment from the Branching Out set, I added a mat and adhered it to the center of the image.  I stamped the butterfly from the Discover Your Wings stamp set and added a touch of glitter to the tips of it's wings and added it to the center circle.
For the tin I repeated most of the same steps I did for the matching card except I added two layered flowers and a pearl brad {love these embellishments from the Kit} to the center circles as well as a bow from the matching ribbon and two glittered butterflies from the Summer Afternoon stamp set.  I wrapped the designer paper around the bottom portion of my tin and added a band of the ribbon around the top edge of the lid.
Thank you so much for stopping by today!

PTI - Pinwheels in a Jar

Hello friends!  I have another blog post for today (two in one day...yeah I know), in honor of Papertrey Ink's four year anniversary they are offering up a little contest as well as free digital tags so I thought I would give it a go.  You can read all about it here and maybe join in if you'd like.  Part of the contest is to download the free anniversary tags and create a project using one or all of the tags.  Well I picked the pinwheel tag and started thinking about what I wanted to do with it and this is what came of it.  One of my favorite sets from PTI this past year was the Friendship Jar set so why not pinwheels in a jar?  I stamped the jar image, colored it using Copic markers and then used the sticks from the stamp set Friendship Jar Fall Fillers and attached my paper pinwheels to the top of each one.  I cut the actual print out of the tag down a little so that I could fit it into the center of the jar image and add a scallop mat.  I also used the PTI stamp set Birthday Basics to add the Happy Birthday down the side panel.

Well that's it for me, I hope you had a great weekend!

SSSC103 - Feel Better Blend

It's time for this week's Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, SSSC103.  You'll find the sketch on Karen Giron's blog The Sweetest Thing
For my card today I used the Papertrey Ink stamp set Tea for Two and the coordinating teapot die.  This card measures 4 1/4" x 4 1/4", my card base is Chocolate Chip and I used the True Blue Fine and Dandy designer paper by My Mind's Eye.  I stamped the teapot in So Saffron and then the outline of the teapot in Chocolate Chip and added foam tape underneath the image.  I used the Spellbinders Big Scallop Circle Large as my circle mat and added some stitching and ribbon to finish it off.

Mouse on Orange Daisy Thinking of You Card

Happy Tuesday morning!  Were expecting anywhere from 8"-15" of snow today and it's headed our way and suppose to start coming down around 7pm our time, the way the weather man makes it sound its the snow storm of the century.  The kids are excited knowing that they'll most likely have a snow day tomorrow and my husband is gearing up since in the winter he does snow removal.

The card that I have to share today is to cheer up someone special that's going through a difficult time and I hope it makes her smile.  I found this Tina Wenke Mouse on Orange Daisy stamp in my stash, in the pile of neglected stamps I thought I just had to have because they were so cute {if you're a stamper you may have a pile of your own}.  I pulled it out and had fun coloring this cute image with it's sweet little mouse plopped on top of a big old daisy.  After I was done coloring using my Copic markers I mixed some dazzling diamonds with some white Fun Flock and added it to the tops of the pale yellow dandelions so the card would have a bit of sparkle {you can always click on an image for a closer view}.
Supplies: Mouse on Orange Daisy - Tina Wenke, Circular Sayings - Verve, Little Girl Designer paper - Echo Park, Circle punches, Flower, Button, Thread, Medium Scallop Border die - Taylored Expressions, Copics, Glitter, Fun Flock, Ribbon, Perfect Polka Dot Impressions Folder, Foam tape.

Thank you for visiting today!
