TESC126 - Monkeying Around

The card I have for today was created using the Taylored Expressions Sketch Challenge #126 .  When I saw the sketch that Taylor had with the three circles I knew I wanted to create something fun and thought of these silly monkeys from the Fox & Friends stamp set.  I also used the stamp set Curly Cute for the sentiment because I thought the swirls in the lettering would work well with the curly monkey tails.

Supplies: Fox & Friends, Curly Cute, Retired SU DSP, Ribbon, Scallop border punch, Brads, Circle punch, Heart to Heart extra large punch, Dimensionals.  Colors: Chocolate Chip, Crumb Cake, Real Red.

Hope you're having a good day!

Changes

Hello friends. I've made the difficult decision to resign as a Stampin' Up demonstrator.

The last five years or more as a Stampin' Up demonstrator have been an incredible journey. It's led to meeting new friends, learning more about a craft I love, starting a blog to share my work and becoming connected to people I've never even met and now it's time for me to move forward and I'm exciting about what the future holds. I love Stampin' Up products and think they’re a great company but over these last few years for me it's been more of a creative outlet and sharing what I love with other people than it's been about building my business. Most of my cards and projects will continue to be with Stampin' Up products but I'll also enjoy the freedom to stamp and create with other companies as well. I value the friendships and people that I've come to know through Stampin' Up and through blogging and would like to thank you for your support.

SSSC83 - Just Because

Good morning!  It's that fun day of the week, time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  This week we have a guest joining the Sweet Sunday Stampers, the talented Nancy McKinney who also created this weeks sketch.  Welcome Nancy!  This is such a fun sketch for all of us, I just love the large circle and scallops.  For my card I used Extra Large Fancy Flower punch and punched three flowers out of the Newsprint designer paper and used the largest flower from the Boho Blossoms punch and a vintage brad for the center.  I used the stamp sets Elements of Style for the swirl on the upper half of the circle, Notably Ornate for the Just Because sentiment and Tiny Tags for the 4 You.  All of these stamp sets intermix so well together to create a vintage looking card.
To play along create a card using Karen's Sweet Sunday Sketch, then go to Karen’s blog The Sweetest Thing and link your card so we can all see your creation!

Mojo Monday/Color Throwdown - Aviary

Happy Wednesday everyone, we've made it half way through the week!  It's hard to believe that in less than two weeks my kids will be headed back to school.  The card I have for today was created with the help of two challenges, the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge and the Color Throwdown Challenge.  I used the stamp sets Aviary, Curly Cute and Pretty Pattern back ground stamp for this card.  I'm convinced that I must be bow challenged because I struggled to get this bow looking half way decent on the front of my card (and yes its a miracle that I can tie my shoes, lol).  I didn't have the color Pear Pizzazz for the color challenge so I went with Old Olive instead.

Supplies: Aviary, Curly Cute, Pretty Pattern BG, Square punches, Scallop border punch, Ribbon, Button

Thanks for your visit!

Today's card is for two challenges Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge for the layout and the Colour Queen Color Challenge for these great colors.  I used the stamp sets Aviary and Curly Cute for the sentiment to create this birthday card.  The bird cage with the wide eyed owl (he cracks me up) was stamped separately, cut out and popped up and the Top Note die piece was stamped with the Pretty Pattern back ground stamp.

Supplies: Aviary, Curly Cute, Pretty Pattern, Square Lattice Impressions Folder, Top Note Sizzix die, Blossom Party Sizzix die (for flower), Ribbon, Button, Brads, Large Oval punch, Scallop border punch, Piercer, Hole punch, Dimensionals.

Fresh Cut Bloomers

Hello friends!  The card I'm sharing today was inspired by the flowers in our back yard.  We have several large black-eyed susan plants along the side of our house that are just blooming their hearts out and looking pretty (below is a picture of one of them).  So I used the Papertrey Ink stamp sets Friendship Jar and Friendship Jar Fillers along with some yellow and white checked paper from my stash to create this card.  I'm out of practice with using my Copic markers so it felt good to sit and color this image.

SSSC82 - Butterfly Birthday Wishes

Happy Sunday morning to you!  It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge.  For the card sample I have using Karen's sketch I used the SU Beautiful Butterflies Sizzix die the Beautiful Wings Embosslit die and the Watercolor Trio set for my sentiment.  I took my colors from the Sunny Garden designer paper except I didn't have Peach Parfait so I went with Pumpkin Pie which is a little darker but still in the same color family.

Just Believe - Sneak Peek

Hello!  Today was a beautiful day here in Michigan, the humidity was gone and the temps were in the 80's with a cool breeze and sun shine.
The card I have above is a sneak peek at one of the projects were going to be doing for my Stamp Camp this Wednesday.  For some reason when I look at this card I think of the beach, maybe its the Crumb Cake (sand) and Marina Mist (water) colors or maybe the pearls.
I used the stamp set Just Believe for the main image and sentiment and Inspired by Nature (which was stamped twice) for the back ground.  Both the image and the sentiment were popped up with dimensionals with some CC ink sponged around the edge of circle.

Supplies: Just Believe, Inspired by Nature, Large Circle punch, Sponge, Lace Ribbon, Pearls, Dimensionals.  Colors: Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, Marina Mist.

Hope you've had a good day!

SSSC81 - Ice Cream & Coffee

It's time for the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge!  Karen Giron has another great sketch for us this week so I hope you'll play along.  The first card I have uses the stamp set Sweet Scoops with some fun SU buttons.  Two of the ice cream scoops and cherry were stamped separately and cut out so that I could layer them on top of one another with the last scoop popped up.  I thought using the Perfect Details Texturz Plate on the More Mustard back ground repeats the pattern in the ice cream cone and gives some texture to the card.

Supplies: Sweet Scoops, Perfect Details Texturz Plate, Buttons, Scallop border punch, Ribbon, Dimensional.  Colors: Real Red, More Mustard, Tempting Turquoise.
The second card I have using the Sweet Sunday Sketch is also for the Color Combo Galore Challenge which you can see here

Supplies: Warm Happiness - Papertrey Ink, KI Memories Leapfrog DSP, Buttons, Ribbon, Twine, Nestie die, Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder, Dimensionals.  Colors: Early Espresso, Kiwi Kiss, Natural Ivory.

MTSC86/Color Throwdown - Pursue Happiness

Hello!  I was able to stamp a little this afternoon and decided to participate in two challenges. Some times the challenges take you out of your comfort zone but sure do help to get your creative juices going.  The first challenge is Mercy's Tuesday Sketch Challenge #86 {awesome sketch} and the second is the Color Throwdown, I combined the two with this pretty Taylored Expressions Discover Your Wings stamp set to create this card.
It was fun adding detail and dimension to this card by stamping the flowers a second time and popping them up, adding glitter to the dandy lion flowers and butterfly and tiny pearls to the tips of the wings {click on the above picture for a closer view}.

Supplies: Discover Your Wings - Taylored Expressions, Markers, Perfect Polka Dots Impressions Folder, Ribbon, Glitter, Pearls, Dimensionals.

Tart & Tangy Gift Bucket

Good afternoon, today I'm posting the gift I gave to my friend Vicki Stys from when we went to CHA {Craft & Hobby Association Super Show}.  I wanted to give her a little something that was summery and bright so I used the stamp set Tart & Tangy and created a citrus lemon lime and orange treat bucket.  All of the lemons, limes and oranges were stamped and heat embossed using clear embossing powder and punched out and layered using circle punches.

Supplies: Tart & Tangy, Best Yet, Teeny Tiny Wishes, One Smart Cookie, Clear bucket, Coluzzle, Circle punches, Scallop Circle punch, Scallop border punch, Clear embossing powder,Ribbon, Summer Picnic retired DSP, Dimensionals.  Colors: Pumpkin Pie, Green Galore, Yoyo Yellow.
Inside the bucket were Lemon Head candies, orange slices, orange and lime Tic-Tacs, gum and some packs of Crystal Light lemon aid.

Yahooo!!!

Last week I had so much fun playing with the colors from the Colour Queen Challenge that my cards were picked along with two other women who created cards as a winner.
Thank you for your comments and support!

PPA54/A Masculine KISS - Cheers to You

Two blog post in one day?  What's up with that?  Well things have slowed down on the home front lately and I'm enjoying being able to play along with some of the fun challenges that are out there.  For instance the card above is for the Pals Paper Arts Challenge which was to create a simple masculine card and KISS {Keep It Simple Sweetheart}.  Everyone needs a masculine card from time to time so I thought why not jump in and create a card.  I have to admit I really like this color combo of the More Mustard, Night of Navy and Cajun Craze from the new Color Coach.  It may be difficult to see from this photo but I used some Liquid Applique on the tops of the beer mugs to make them look foamy.

Supplies: Cheers to You, Square punch, Button, Twine, Ribbon, Photo Corner punch, CB Embossing folder, Liquid Applique, Dimensionals, Aqua brush.

Mojo Monday/Shabby Tea Room - Just Believe

Today's card share is an anniversary card that I created for two special people in my life, I used the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge for the layout and found my inspiration from The Shabby Tea Room Challenge.
I used the stamp set Just Believe and accidentally smugged black ink along side the vanilla card stock on my image panel so I decided it needed more distressing with ink after that, lol.  By the time I was done my fingers were very inky :)
Supplies: Just Believe, Love Letter DSP, Vintage Wallpaper Impressions Folder, Chantilly Crochet Trim, Antique Brad, Beautiful Wings Embosslit die, Circle punch, Word Window punch, Modern Label punch, Brads, Scallop Trim border punch, Ribbon, White Craft ink, Dimensionals.  Colors: Basic Black, Crumb Cake, Very Vanilla, More Mustard.
This is the inspiration photo from The Shabby Tea Room Challenge, I was drawn to the black leaves in the two candle holders, the creamy colored candles and flowers for my card.

Thank you for stopping by!
