SSSC46

It's Sunday morning and its time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, Karen has given us another great sketch for this week and I hope you'll give it a try! I've been missing in action for most of this last week as far as my blog goes even though I really wanted to have time to post a card before Thanksgiving. Life was just too darn busy between having Thanksgiving at our house and all of the cleaning, grocery shopping and cooking I didn't have a chance. That and my youngest son who had the flu the week before and seemed to be getting better ended up Thanksgiving night with a 103.5 fever in the middle of the night. Never a dull moment here at our house, he has an ear infection and is on antibiotics so hopefully this time he'll get healthy and stay that way. Any whoo I had the top card made for the sketch today and then decided to make another. After venturing out yesterday I was driving along and I saw so many fresh cut Christmas trees on top of cars and trucks that it made me think of the stamp set Loads of Love.

Supplies: (top card) Enjoy Every Moment, Maine Blueberry DSP, Ribbon, Small circle punch, Photo corner punch, Piercer, Pop dots, Button. Colors: Not Quite Navy, Old Olive, Bashful Blue.

Supplies: (bottom card) Loads of Love, Merry Moments DSP, Ribbon, Photo corner punch, Aqua brush. Colors: Chocolate Chip, G

arden Green, Real Red, Going Grey, Basic Grey.

If you'd like to play along create a card using the Sweet Sunday Sketch then go to Karen's blog The Sweetest Thing and link your card so we can all see your creation.

Snowmen

Hello everyone! I don't know about you but I'm a huge sucker for snowmen, when I decorate for Christmas there are snowmen through out our house and a good majority stay out until Valentines Day because they look so wintry. So when I saw this snowman stamp in the stamp set The More the Merrier I knew it would get good use and be fun to stamp with. I tried using some nontraditional colors on this card since it seems that most of the Christmas cards I've been creating are red and green and I actually like this combo.

Supplies: The More the Merrier, Sparkling wheel, Teeny Tiny Wishes, Word Window punch, Modern Label punch, Scallop edge punch, Piercer, Brads, Ribbon, White pen, Dazzling Diamonds, Pop dots, Aqua brush. Colors: Taken with Teal, Real Red, Kiwi Kiss.

Our youngest son is over the flu and feeling better thank God, thank you for all the well wishes. I'm ready for Thanksgiving here at our house, all day yesterday I cleaned and then finished my grocery shopping so now I just need to keep the house clean until Thursday.

Happy Birthday to my oldest son Zach, today is his actual birthday even though we celebrated last Sunday! The second half of this last week I was busy taking care of our youngest son who has the flu. I thought maybe we would escape from anyone else in our family getting the flu since less than two weeks ago Zach was down for a week with it but I guess not.

Mojo Monday - Branch Out

Today's card is for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge #113 and uses the stamp set Branch Out which is on the SU dormant list. I had this card ready to post yesterday but for some reason Blogger was giving me trouble unloading my picture. This card is actually very sparkly in real life because every falling snowflake in the main image has Dazzling Diamonds on it. The Bashful Blue panel was stamped with snowflakes from the Christmas Punch stamp set and the Brocade Blue panel was embossed using the Perfect Details Texturz Plate.

Supplies: Branch Out, Christmas Punch, Best Yet, Large oval punch, Scallop oval punch, Dazzling Diamonds, Ribbon, Brads, Perfect Details Texturz Plate, Sponge. Colors: Night of Navy, Brocade Blue, Bashful Blue, Real Red.

This last Sunday was the birthday party for our boys which was lots of fun, its still hard for me to believe how fast their both growing.
Have a great day!

It's time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge and Karen has come up with another fabulous sketch for us all to try! WSC106 - MOJO112 Sparkly & Bright

The two cards I have to share today are made with the Sparkly & Bright stamp set and since I really haven't used this set I decided to pull it out and make a few cards with it. The card above is for Beate's Weekend Sketch Challenge and I love the squares on this sketch so I had to play along. It's difficult to see from the picture but the top half of this card was wheeled in Real Red with the Sparkly wheel and each of the fun Santa's have Dazzling Diamonds and a clear gem on their hat. This card measures 4"x 6 3/4" with a band of designer paper that is 2 1/2"x 6 3/4".

Supplies: Sparkly & Bright, Sparkly wheel, Christmas Punch, Curly Label punch, Square punch, Merry Moments DSP, Ribbon, Dazzling Diamonds, Gems, Black SU marker.

The second card is was for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge which I thought was a bit different with the horizontal strips. You've gotta love the little reindeer from this set he's too darn cute!
Supplies: Sparkly & Bright, Sparkly wheel, Scallop circle punch, Circle punches, Ribbon, Piercer, Pop dots, Black SU marker. Colors: Chocolate Chip, Real Red, Old Olive, Red gem for his nose.

This Sunday were having a birthday party for both our sons which were born a week apart. I can hardly believe that our oldest will be 15 and our youngest is turning 3. Wish me luck on making a fire truck birthday cake!

Thanksgiving Mix

Today I'd like to share with you a little gift I made for my friend, it's a wrapped harvest candle and some Thanksgiving Mix. I've made more of these for family just like I've done for the past few years, everyone seems to love this Thanksgiving Mix and its something easy to make. The tag on the mix reads:

Thanksgiving Day Mix
The Bugles are a symbol of the Cornucopia, a horn of plenty.
The Pretzels represent arms folded in thanks and prayer.
The Candy Corn reminds us that during the first winter, the pilgrims were allowed only five kernels of corn per day because food was scarce.
The Fruit (or candy orange slices in this case) is a reminder that Thanksgiving is a celebration of the harvest.
The Peanuts represent seeds, the potential of the bounteous harvest for the next season if they are planted and well-tended.
Happy Thanksgiving!

Supplies: Falling Leaves, Circle punches, Ribbon, Brads, Corner tag punch, Linen thread, Tacky tape. Colors: Soft Suede, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie, Very Vanilla.

PS I also threw in some chocolate carmel Hersey kiss in the mix because everyone loves a little chocolate.

Hope your having a good day!

It's Sunday!!! Time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge! Karen's got another great sketch for all of us to create with this week! The card I have for the sketch today uses a Paper Trey stamp set (yes you read that right non-Stampin' Up oh my). This last Friday it was so great to be able to get together with my friend Vicki and do some stampin' and chatting and while she was here she let me use some of her stamps.
The center pumpkin on this card was actually stamped twice and pop dotted and the Really Rust panel was embossed using an SU Texturz Plate.

Supplies: Paper Trey stamp set, Retired Hawaii Papaya DSP, Ribbon, Perfect Details Texturz Plate, Pop dots. Colors: Old Olive, Really Rust, Pumpkin Pie.

SFYTT/CC243 - More Dasher

Well it certainly feels like Christmas and winter are closing in on us, our weather this week is chilly, the leaves on the trees have all fallen and there's Christmas at every store you go to now. Halloween day I received three catalogs in the mail one being the big Toys R Us catalog but all of them were for Christmas shopping. Anyhoo today's card is for two challenges the first on is Jen del Muro's Sketch for You to Try (which I haven't done in ages and really miss) and the second is the Splitcoast Stampers Color Challenge #243. The color challenge this week was to use all neutral papers and the only pop of color you could use was in your stamping.

Supplies: Dasher, Snow Swirled, Ribbon, Circle punches, Nesties, Pearls, Pop dots. Colors: Chocolate Chip, Kraft, Soft Suede, Riding Hood Red.

MOJO111 - Red Dasher

Today's card is for the Mojo Monday Sketch Challenge, I used the Dasher stamp and decided to go with a Real Red monochromatic color scheme. Looking at my post from yesterday and even today I was wondering why just some of my picture seemed blurry and now as I'm posting this card I remembered that my 2yr old son had gotten a hold of my camera the other day, hmmm. Looks like a case of sticky finger prints on the lens to me!

Supplies: Dasher, Holidays and Wishes, Merry Moments DSP, Nesties, Ribbon, Gems, Piercer, Pop dots.

Hope your having a good day!

SSSC42 - JOY!

Good morning everyone I hope all of you had a fun Halloween! Today is Sunday which means that its time for another Sweet Sunday Sketch, the card that I have for today uses the stamp set Season of Joy. The card base is Real Red and measures 3 1/2"x 8" which fits nicely into a standard envelope, the bottom portion of my card was embossed using the Petals-a-Plenty embossing folder and the top was stamped with Versa Mark ink using the large poinsettia flower from the set. I stamped the main image in Old Olive and before stamping I used a Real Red marker and colored directly on the rubber stamp so that I could get a two color image. I popped up the snowflake in the center of the JOY and added small pearls to the centers of the poinsettia's.

If you would like to join in on the Sweet Sunday Sketch Challenge, create a card using the sketch and go to Karen's blog and add your information using Simply Linked.
